One sunny morning, a girl named Lily opened her drawer. 'Oh no!' she cried. 'My favorite polka-dot socks are missing! Where could they be?' Lily had only one sock, and it felt lonely.

First, Lily looked under her bed. She saw dust bunnies and a toy car, but no socks. 'Hmm,' she thought, 'socks love to hide in dusty places!' She used a flashlight to search carefully.

Next, Lily checked behind the bright yellow curtains. Maybe the socks were playing hide-and-seek! She found her teddy bear, but still no socks. 'These socks are very good at hiding!' she giggled.

Finally, Lily remembered the laundry basket. 'Could they be there?' she wondered. She dug through the clothes, and what did she find? All her missing socks, tangled together! 'Aha!' she shouted, 'Found you!'

Lily laughed. Her socks weren't lost, they were just waiting for laundry day! From then on, Lily always made sure her socks went straight into the laundry basket. 'Silly socks!' she said, giving them a big hug before putting them on.
