Leo and his big sister Lila were explorers for a day! With their parents, they walked on a leafy green trail in the Amazon Rainforest, the biggest jungle in the world. 'Wow!' said Leo, pointing at a brilliant blue butterfly as big as his hand. It fluttered past giant trees that seemed to touch the sky.

Chasing after a funny-looking capuchin monkey, Leo and Lila wandered off the trail. 'Whee!' they giggled, as the monkey swung from vine to vine. Suddenly, the monkey was gone, and so was the trail! All around them were tall trees and the chirps and squawks of hidden animals. 'Uh oh, Lila,' whispered Leo, 'I think we're a little bit lost.'

Just as they started to worry, a beautiful bird with feathers of red, yellow, and blue landed on a branch nearby. It was a Scarlet Macaw! The bird squawked loudly, tilting its head. The friendly macaw seemed to want to help. It flew a short distance and looked back, as if waiting for them to follow.

Following their new feathered friend, they scrambled over roots and ducked under giant leaves. Soon, they heard a familiar sound â their parents calling their names! The macaw had led them right back to the trail. 'We're safe!' cheered Lila. They gave the macaw a grateful wave as it flew back into the green canopy. What an amazing Amazon adventure!
